Where this spring style fits
Review best-fit uses, assembly constraints and situations where another spring style may be a better choice.

Flat battery contacts and grounding spring enquiries defined by the contact function, installation geometry and required contact force.
Battery contacts and grounding springs can both use formed strip elements, but they serve different electrical interfaces. A battery contact connects to a cell terminal; a grounding contact connects the specified chassis or conductive surfaces. Identify the intended function before choosing geometry or finish. Mechanical contact force and electrical acceptance requirements must be stated separately, with the mating surfaces included in the drawing.
Use a battery coil contact when the assembly needs a helical interface. A contact leaf spring is a more general strip-contact form. Battery connection and grounding duty should not share an unspecified electrical rating.
Define how contact force and electrical performance are checked on the mating parts. Identify any soldering, fastening, cleanliness or corrosion requirement without assuming that a particular plating is suitable for every interface.
Product Specification
Use these product-specific inputs to describe your requirement. Final dimensions, material and performance are confirmed against the drawing and operating conditions.
| Specification item | What to define |
|---|---|
| Contact interface | Cell terminal or grounding surface, with mating geometry. |
| Strip and form | Thickness, width, bends, tabs and mounting dimensions. |
| Contact force | Force at installed deflection and usable movement range. |
| Electrical criteria | Current, resistance or continuity requirements as applicable. |
| Material and finish | Grade, plating specification and exposure conditions. |
Next Design Decisions
Once the spring style is selected, confirm how it works in the assembly, which material suits the environment, how it will be manufactured and which dimensions and performance points should be controlled on the drawing.

Product Questions
Only if the actual interfaces and acceptance requirements match. State the electrical function and mating surfaces explicitly.
No. Surface finish, contact geometry, installed force and the electrical requirements also need review.
RFQ
A drawing is ideal. If you do not have one yet, provide the dimensions, load or torque, travel, environment and expected quantity that matter in the assembly.
