Wire forms can include bends, offsets, hooks, closed or open rings and mounting features without a conventional spring body. Their performance depends on the complete formed geometry, bend radii, springback, material condition and the way the part is loaded in the assembly.
Selection
The most useful starting point is the feature the component must provide after installation.
Use round-wire clip and hook forms when the part retains, latches, locates or connects another component.
Ring-style parts are reviewed around groove or shaft/bore geometry and the deflection needed for installation.
Multi-bend parts require a controlled bend sequence, practical tooling access and clear datums on the drawing.
Custom Manufacturing Data
Catalog-backed wire-form examples provide a reference for wire diameter and overall envelope, while many formed components remain drawing-specific. Tight bend radii, long free legs and multiple planes can change the practical manufacturing route.
Custom RFQ
A 2D or 3D drawing is especially useful because bend orientation and datum location are difficult to define with overall dimensions alone.
